The Community Action Partnership of Riverside County helps qualified residents with utility bill assistance and weatherization. The program assists with lowering heating and cooling costs, making homes more energy efficient though repair or replacement of ACs and heating units and refrigerator replacements. The Gas Company Project CARE
The Gas Company's CARE program is designed to assist seniors. If a senior receives assistance from Medi-Cal or Medicaid, CalFresh or other specific programs or the total income for one senior is $22,340 or two seniors is $30,260 he or she may qualify for the CARE Program which provides a 20% discount on the monthly gas bill for eligible households. In addition, those who qualify--and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service--will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge. Southern California Edison Company Energy Assistance
Edison Company has the following energy assistance programs: The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program offers income-qualified customers a discount of 20% or more off their monthly electric bill. A two-person household may qualify for this program if they have a maximum yearly income of $30,260. If the CARE program is not applicable, a senior and family may qualify for the Family Electric Rate Assistance program (FERA). This plan offers a discounted rate on a monthly SCE bill for families of three or more who fall within the income guidelines and who exceed their baseline usage by 30% or more. Waste Management of the IE Senior Discount Program
Waste Management of the Inland Empire provides a reduction of the monthly rate for trash pick-up. This program is for low-income senior citizens 65 years of age or older or disabled. Income limits apply. For more information, please call (951) 270-5654.
