Enjoy a hot, tasty & nutritional meal prepared by Sodexo Corporation & sponsored by Riverside County Office on Aging. Meals are served Monday - Friday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The meal program is for senior participants ages 60 and older. Meals are free; however, there is a suggested donation of $3.00. If you would like to enroll in the Senior Congregate Meal Program, please pick up an application at the Senior Center front desk. A meal delivery program is also available for the homebound, frail, and elderly seniors; please, contact the Office on Aging at 1(877)932-4100 for additional information on this service. 

The Rose M. Eldridge Senior Center is activated as a Cool Center from June 1 through October 15 during periods of excessive heat when temperatures reach 97° F or higher. The senior center is also activated as a Warm Center from December 1 to March 31 when temperatures drop below 40°F. When activated, hours of operation are as follows: Monday - Friday 8 a.m.- 6 p.m., Sat - Sun 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Temperatures will be monitored and hours may be adjusted as needed. The Rose M. Eldridge Senior Center is proud to offer the "Bouquets of Kindness" program. This unique and heartfelt delivery service to brighten ones day is free for seniors in our community. "Bouquets of Kindness" include fresh fruits and vegetables, when available, floral arrangements, and greeting cards, to spread kindness throughout the community. These gifts will be made available through the senior gardeners efforts at our 1.4 acre "Young at Heart" senior garden. Dedicated volunteers will assemble cheerful gifts to strengthen and enrich the quality of life for those who need a "pick me up". Collaborative efforts with local businesses will enhance the quality and success of the program. The “Seniors on the Move” transportation program, which is a unique door-to-door transportation service available to all Norco resident seniors 50 years and older, able-bodied Norco resident military veterans 50 years and older, and disabled Norco residents of any age, will continue normal operations. This program provides free transportation to residents within a 30-mile radius outside of Norco city limits for necessary grocery shopping, medical visits, obtaining prescriptions, paying bills, postal services, banking, etc. Reservations are taken on a first-come first-served basis and residents are encouraged to make a trip request at least one week prior to their desired date. The Senior Excursion Program is open to Seniors 50 and older both residents and non residents.  The program offers leisure travel with a minimum of two trips a month to museums, gardens, exhibitions, casinos and much more!

The Norco Seniors and Pets Relief Fund sponsors a breakfast and bingo on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Rose M. Eldridge Senior Center. Price of breakfast is $3.00 per person. Bingo runs from 11 am – 12 pm and costs 25 cents for 4 squares. All proceeds go to the Norco Seniors and Pets Relief Fund.

Norco residents 62 years of age or older may contact Seniors and Pets through the Rose M. Eldridge Senior Center for financial assistance to spay or neuter their pet(s). Remember: Seniors will no longer be eligible for the senior citizen dog license rates if their dog(s) is/are not spayed or neutered.

The Inland Counties Legal Services is available to provide free legal assistance to San Bernardino and Riverside County Residents 60 years & older on the 4th Thursday of every other month from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Call (800) 977-4257 between 8:45 am and 4:45 pm to schedule an appointment.

HICAP offers free non-biased Health Insurance Counseling for seniors. If interested, please call 909.256.8369 and leave your name and phone number on the answering machine. They will return the call within 24 to 48 business hours Monday through Friday. All services provided are strictly over the phone. 

Are you feeling worried, overwhelmed, sad, lonely, or irritable? If you are experience mental health symptoms, the Riverside County Office on Aging provides free consolations and linkage to Behavioral Health resources. The Riverside County of Office on Aging has two behavioral health specialists that are available for telephonic counseling to seniors who are becoming depressed by the stress and isolation at this time. Their services, as well as other services provided by the Office on Aging can be accessed through Helpline at 800.510.2020.

Everyone can help protect elder and depended adults. If you  or someone you know is being abused please call the toll free number at 1.800.491.7123. Suspected abuse includes: physical, sexual, self-neglect, abandonment, financial, psychological, and neglected by others. 

Independence at Home, a SCAN Community Service provides a multitude of services to Riverside County residents. Services include: short-term mental health support talk therapy that is available via phone and/or virtual platforms and a friendly caller program that matches isolated older adults with a volunteer who will call them on a regular basis. The Housing Authority of the County of Riverside helps to provide affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing opportunities to low and moderate income families, including elderly and handicapped persons, while supporting programs to foster economic self-sufficiency. Community Action Partnership of Riverside

The Community Action Partnership of Riverside County helps qualified residents with utility bill assistance and weatherization. The program assists with lowering heating and cooling costs, making homes more energy efficient though repair or replacement of ACs and heating units and refrigerator replacements.  The Gas Company Project CARE

The Gas Company's CARE program is designed to assist seniors. If a senior  receives assistance from Medi-Cal or Medicaid, CalFresh or other specific programs or the total income for one senior is $22,340 or two seniors is $30,260 he or she may qualify for the CARE Program which provides a 20% discount on the monthly gas bill for eligible households. In addition, those who qualify--and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service--will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge. Southern California Edison Company Energy Assistance

Edison Company has the following energy assistance programs: The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program offers income-qualified customers a discount of 20% or more off their monthly electric bill. A two-person household may qualify for this program if they have a maximum yearly income of $30,260. If the CARE program is not applicable, a senior and family may qualify for the Family Electric Rate Assistance program (FERA). This plan offers a discounted rate on a monthly SCE bill for families of three or more who fall within the income guidelines and who exceed their baseline usage by 30% or more. Waste Management of the IE Senior Discount Program

Waste Management of the Inland Empire provides a reduction of the monthly rate for trash pick-up. This program is for low-income senior citizens 65 years of age or older or disabled. Income limits apply. For more information, please call (951) 270-5654.
